Description
This meditation is for those wanting an excellent night’s sleep. This is a simple technique to withdraw the mental energy and practice mindfulness of the eyes, which will induce the relaxation response.
A gentle yogic mudra is used to initially calm the eyes. An eye pillow may also be helpful for this lying down practice, but not necessary.
The meditation then takes you on a mindful journey of eyes and heart and will help you to reduce tension behind the eyes, and reduce heart rate. The extended out breath is utilised.
The meditation finalises by incorporating a gentle understanding of Shavasana (corpse pose) from the Yogic tradition, said to be the hardest pose to master. Find out why…
