CPD04 Trauma-Informed Meditation Teacher Training: Meditation Therapy for Brain, Biome & Genome (Online)

An Online Continuing Professional Development Specialty Intensive

Integration is the pathway toward wellbeing.

Dan Siegel

This Trauma-Informed Meditation Teacher Training is designed for yoga teachers, yoga therapists, meditation teachers, doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors, psychotherapists, allied health professionals, and mental health practitioners who wish to deepen their understanding of trauma-responsive care, enhance clinical insight, and develop professional capacity to offer trauma-informed meditation and mindful embodiment practices within contemporary clinical and therapeutic settings.

The course aligns with the key principles of the RACGP Curriculum, the RANZCP Fellowship Competency Framework, and the PACFA Training Standards for trauma-responsive practice. The program is registered with Meditation Australia and Yoga Australia, supporting its commitment to professional education and evidence-informed practice.

Trauma, Neuroscience and the Embodied Mind

Anchored in the biopsychosocial model central to general practice, psychiatry, counselling, and psychotherapy education, this program emphasises the equal importance of the body and mind in trauma-responsive care. Through an integrated embodied neuroscience perspective, practitioners explore how meditation, mindfulness, and body-based awareness practices can support safety, regulation, connection, and wellbeing.

This Trauma-Informed Meditation Teacher Training delivers evidence-informed content relevant to healthcare, mental health, yoga therapy, and allied health practice. Through a meditative and experiential framework, participants examine the relationship between traumatic stress, neurobiology, cognitive processing, immune function, hormonal regulation, digestive health, and embodied experience.

The course explores the gut-brain and heart-brain axes, the influence of thought patterns, behavioural responses, and environmental stressors on physiology and emotional states, while introducing practical approaches that support self-regulation and holistic health outcomes.

Meditation Therapy, Epigenetics and Intergenerational Trauma

Meditation Therapy for Brain, Biome and Genome incorporates contemporary perspectives in epigenetics, exploring how familial history, lived experience, and intergenerational patterns may influence identity, behaviour, resilience, and our relationship with ourselves and others.

Participants engage in meditation-based trauma-responsive learning, including intergenerational trauma, childhood trauma, collective trauma, embodied awareness, and compassionate presence. The course explores how present-day awareness and self-regulation practices may contribute to positive change across individual and collective experiences.

Trauma-Informed Practice with BIYOME

This intensive training is facilitated by BIYOME Director and Head Teacher Celia Roberts BSc, a long-standing educator in Trauma-Informed Mindfulness with over twenty years of teaching experience.

Celia teaches within a biopsychosocial and neurobiological framework that aligns with the RACGP emphasis on whole-person care, the RANZCP focus on reflective practice, clinical formulation, and therapeutic alliance, and the PACFA commitment to embodied presence, relational attunement, and safe trauma-responsive engagement.

The intention of this training is to support your personal embodiment of presence so that you may confidently offer attuned, embodied presence for others within your professional practice.

Please note that while this course enhances the trauma-informed capacity of practitioners, it is not a qualification or certification to provide trauma therapy or trauma-specific treatment. Instead, it is a complementary professional development training designed to strengthen trauma-responsive meditation practice, practitioner wellbeing, and mindful care across general practice, psychiatry, counselling, psychotherapy, yoga therapy, and allied mental health settings.
