200PAP Graduate Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted PsychoSomatic Therapy

ENDORSED by RANZCP Royal Australian & New Zealand College Psychiatrists, PACFA Endorsed Modules, 200Hour Registered Yoga Australia Approved Training Course.

Embodied Medicine - Embodied Psychiatry, Psychology, and Psychotherapy.

“The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.”

— Thomas Edison (1903)

Step into groundbreaking new terrain in the mental health sector with BIYOME’s pioneering 200-hour Psychedelic-Assisted Psychosomatic Therapy (PAP) Training Course, a program integrating ancient contemplative sciences with cutting-edge therapeutic interventions. This compassion-focused, trauma-informed course is an endorsed 200 Hour training course with the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, 200 Hour registered training course with Yoga Australia, and includes PACFA-endorsed modules.

Embodied Medicine Training

In the evolving landscape of Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy (PAP), responsible practice calls for the integration of trauma-informed, somatic-based methods in both preparation and integration. Acknowledging the deep interplay between body and mind, this training emphasises:

Tailored for mental health professionals, Embodied Medicine Training offers an exploration of somatic, body-oriented therapeutic approaches within the field of psychedelic therapy. BIYOME invites you to step into the future of mental health through embodied psychiatry, psychology, and psychotherapy.

Rooted in the contemplative traditions of Yoga and Buddhism, this program illuminates the path to self-awareness. The contemplative sciences guide us to cultivate presence over technique in a therapeutic setting, ensuring a non-directive approach to healing. Guided by the timeless wisdom that “Yoga is the great vocation that leads to the end of suffering”, participants will cultivate a deep connection to consciousness, compassion, and inner attunement, bridging ancient knowledge with modern therapeutic practice. This course ultimately encourages you to become the compassionate presence that truly heals, perhaps far more powerful than any medicine you will ever hold in your hands.

Distinguished Academic Leaders

This program is led by a faculty of highly regarded, long-standing professionals in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, offering unparalleled expertise in the Australian context.

A key strength lies in its focus on local perspectives, with leading experts delivering core content informed by the latest research, clinical practice, and regulatory standards. This ensures training that is both relevant and deeply rooted in Australia’s therapeutic and cultural landscape.

With a steadfast commitment to integrity, professional excellence, and the responsible advancement of psychedelic therapy, this program provides a transformative, immersive learning experience for those seeking to deepen their expertise and refine their practice.

Psychedelic-Assisted Psychosomatic Therapy – The Medico-Legal Framework

As a dedicated course provider, we adhere to current Australian guidelines, ensuring a commitment to the safe, ethical, and efficacious integration of psychedelic-assisted therapy within a medico-legal framework. This training is a professional pathway that respects emerging Australian standards, meeting the increased training demand for authorised prescribers, psychedelic therapists and facilitators to contribute to psychedelic-assisted therapy.

As of July 1, 2023, authorised psychiatrists in Australia can legally access products containing 3,4-methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (MDMA) for the treatment of traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and psilocybin for treatment-resistant depression. This decision reflects research showing MDMA has demonstrated efficacy in addressing post-traumatic stress disorder, while psilocybin shows promising outcomes for treating individuals with treatment-resistant depression.

Our mission is grounded in the safe integration of psychedelic-assisted therapy as a last-resort treatment within the mental health care system, aiming to address the role that trauma often plays in treatment-resistant psychiatric disorders. These challenges not only place a significant burden on the healthcare system but also have a profound, long-lasting impact on individuals and their families.

In both Australia and on a global scale, there is an expanding body of research in the field of psychedelic science. There is evident potential for psychedelic therapy in addressing chronic conditions that affect a large segment of the population and may alleviate the strain on healthcare resources.

Moreover, ongoing research continues into how altered states of consciousness (brought about by a variety of psychedelic compounds and practices such as holotropic breathwork), when combined with psychotherapy, might provide breakthroughs in the understanding of the neurobiological underpinnings of treatment-resistant psychiatric disorders. The work in this field is also contributing to a growing momentum in the allied field of emotional well-being and the nature of suffering in everyday life.

Whether you are a mental health professional, psychologist, psychiatrist, doctor, or currently practising psychedelic-assisted therapist, this embodied medicine training will further equip you with the knowledge and tools to integrate the wisdom and methods of contemplative traditions with trauma-informed research in mind-body medicine. You will have the option to register as a provisional 200-hour yoga teacher with Yoga Australia upon completion of this training, which will give you the contemplative, meditative and somatic skills to work successfully in this field.

The History of Plant Medicine in Yoga

The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali highlight the historical use of plant medicine in spiritual practice, underscoring the role of oṣadhi (medicinal plants) alongside mantra, austerities (tapas), and meditation (samādhi) in fostering self-realisation and thinning the veil of ignorance. Ancient yogis and Vedic sages revered plant medicines, such as Soma, for their capacity to enhance health, wisdom, and spiritual insight. Read more

This rich yogic history of plant medicine use informs BIYOME’s 200-hour Psychedelic-Assisted Psychosomatic Therapy (PAP) Training Course. Participants will delve into Yoga Psychology, Eastern Psychiatry, and Buddhist Psychotherapy while engaging with contemporary Western models of mind and consciousness. As a registered yoga teacher training course, this program emphasises sourcing and exploring one’s own consciousness naturally as the primary intervention.

Join us in shaping the future of mental health through accredited education and ethical and responsible practice.

What Our Students Say

Hear from past and present students about their experiences with and the benefits they gained from our courses.

I really liked that yoga and meditation were weaved into the training, as this put us in a good mind and body state for meaningful experiential learning that endures. The breathwork element of the course was a fascinating and insightful experience, which was a great preparation for working with psychedelic states.
