Medicine-Assisted Therapy
Integrative Psychiatry & Psychotherapy | BIYOME
Medicine-assisted therapy, integrative psychiatry, psychotherapy, somatic therapy, trauma-informed care, meditation and contemplative practice at BIYOME.
At BIYOME, we offer an integrated approach to mental health care that brings together psychiatry, psychotherapy, contemplative practice, and medicine-assisted therapy within a framework of clinical care.
We recognise that mental health and wellbeing arise within the context of the whole person. Psychological health is shaped not only by symptoms and diagnoses, but also by relationships, life experiences, physical wellbeing, environment, and a person’s sense of meaning and connection.
Our approach is trauma-informed, person-centered, and non-directive. We seek to create a therapeutic environment that supports self-awareness, reflection, emotional understanding, and psychological growth through a collaborative therapeutic relationship. Care is individualised and may include assessment, preparation, therapeutic support, integration, and ongoing clinical review where clinically appropriate.
Psychotherapy forms the foundation of our work and, where clinically indicated, may be complemented by the use of medicine within a carefully structured therapeutic framework under the care of an Authorised Prescriber Psychiatrist. Drawing upon trauma-informed approaches, mindfulness, meditation, breathwork, somatic experiencing, yoga (the science of the mind), and contemplative traditions, we support individuals in exploring patterns of thought, emotion, behaviour, and relationship.
Alongside psychiatric assessment and ongoing clinical care, we offer integrative therapeutic support informed by contemporary psychology, compassion-focused therapy, embodied awareness, and consciousness-based perspectives on health and wellbeing. Our natural setting may support reflection, presence, and connection within the therapeutic process.
At the heart of our work is the understanding that wellbeing is supported through connection — connection with oneself, with others, with nature, and with a deeper sense of meaning and purpose. Through the integration of psychiatry, psychotherapy, somatic therapy, contemplative practice, and medicine-assisted therapy, we provide a comprehensive approach to mental health care, which we call embodied medicine.
Where appropriate and legally authorised, treatment may involve regulated medicine-assisted therapies delivered in accordance with Australian clinical, ethical, and regulatory requirements.
