Is it possible to make a difference to our microbiome through yoga?

The answer is yes.

When we are under long term stress, the amygdala in the brain increases in size. As the amygdala enlarges under stress, the diversity in the biome decreases. This clearly shows us there is a direct link between stress, our brain and our biome.

The really good news is that with a 30-minute daily practice of mindful meditation and yoga we can see a reduction in the size of the amygdala within just 8 weeks.
The amygdala decreases in size as you practice mindful yoga, and your microbiome diversity increases.
