It is time to move a little deeper into the body and explore the psychological impact of stress. Let’s explore the cost of “hidden stress” on the body and look at how we can treat the body through yogic movement and presence.
Our psychological recesses are so vast and so complex.
Therefore, I feel it’s often easier to unravel the stress in the moment, through the body, rather then through complex talk therapy that can and may at times perpetuate “our story”.
There is evidence to support this idea of bodily based therapy in the trauma yoga field and yet, there is such a valuable place for both, at different times in our lives.
Dr Gabor Mate’s work, in particular, is incredibly fascinating! It delves deep into the HPA axis and into psychoneuroendocrinoimmunology, both scientific proofs that mind-body medicine is our new reality, the new frontier on the treatment line for disease.
Our health is so precious. Best to care for it well.
