Ayurveda on Water – Copper cups

Discover the wonders of Tamra Jal!
Did you know that copper, known as Tamra jal in Ayurveda, storing water in a copper vessel for at least eight hours may offer you some impressive health benefits?

There is still a long way to go with more studies needed, but here is some of the latest research that peaked my interest. Copper has antimicrobial properties. Some studies have linked copper intake to changes in feacal bacteria associated with colon cancer risk factors.

Studies have demonstrated that proper quantities of copper may lead to higher fecal free radical production, fecal water cytotoxicity, and alkaline phosphatase activity—all of which are considered risk factors for colon cancer. This suggests that copper intake could potentially make a positive difference to one’s health.

Excitingly, studies on solid copper surfaces have shown significant reductions in infection rates, suggesting copper’s potential in reducing the spread of infections, particularly in places like hospital rooms.

Even more impressively, copper has demonstrated the ability to effectively kill bacteria and viruses upon contact, including the coronavirus.
This highlights copper’s role in creating a hygienic environment and preventing the transmission of infectious diseases.
